Moon Observation Project Mission Statement

The Moon Observation Project is designed as a mini-research project for our AST1001 students at the University of Minnesota. Several objectives of this project include:

• Understanding the scientific methodology through:
• Obtaining data
• Performing analysis
• Developing conclusions
• Understanding the Earth, Moon, Sun system.
• Practical observation of the nighttime and daytime sky.

Beginning with only a hand in the sky, we hope to accomplish these objectives and impart these important lessons to our undergraduate community. This project was conceived, developed, and enhanced by the generous efforts of the U. of Minnesota Astronomy faculty, graduate students, and system administrators.
