Effective Temperatures, Absolute Bolometric Magnitudes, Angular Diameters, and Linear Radii of Stars from the Bright Star Survey

ABSTRACT

The blackbody fit method for deriving effective temperatures, apparent total flux and stellar angular diameters is described. The results are compared with those obtained by interferometry and lunar occultations. Effective temperatures and absolute bolometric magnitudes for 200 stars are derived using the method. Then temperature scales are derived for main sequence stars from spectral type F0 to K5 and giants between G5 and M5.
