1.4 GHz Observation of RE at 157 Myr
Introduction
This is a 1.4 GHz radio observation of the RE simulation at 157 Myr. The emission here is synchrotron emission from energetic electrons orbiting magnetic field lines. To compute a realistic flux the grid was placed at 240 Mpc. The units across the bottom are Jy beam-1. The beam size is 2.08 arcsec2.
We can compare this image with the 300 MHz observation to make an estimate of the spectral slope of the cosmic rays.
